Don’t Miss GATSBY OF A THOUSAND FACES: A New Take on a Classic

Updated: Jul 11

We are thrilled to invite you to an unforgettable theatrical event: Gatsby of a Thousand Faces at Missouri Eastern Correctional Center. Directed by Bess Moynihan and adapted by Courtney Bailey, this brand-new play is inspired by writing from artists at MECC and reimagines F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic through the eyes of multiple Jay Gatsbys.

In Gatsby of a Thousand Faces, a troupe of Jay Gatsbys confronts their maker, F. Scott Fitzgerald himself. These Gatsbys have some "literary corrections" they'd like to make to the novel that gave them a tragic ending. However, a few rogue characters complicate their efforts at a literary ambush. The Gatsbys must decide how to reconcile their desire to be independent characters with the prying eyes of the reading world.
